Public art

In 2021, MuncieArts was selected by the City of Muncie to administer $500,000 of new funding for Public Art Projects from the American Rescue Plan (ARP). With this funding, we will work with the community to implement many new projects in select neighborhoods around the city.

Our ARP and Public Arts committees have been working on a series of updated plans and procedures to help Muncie Neighborhoods and the City maintain and grow the Muncie public art collection.

Our public art vision:

To elevate, curate, and expand Muncie’s diverse, unique and equitable public art collection.

To educate the public about the benefits and qualities of public art that inspire appreciation.

To work with existing and planned cultural assets, development, and infrastructure to develop dynamic new public artworks, while also thinking big about the future.
