About the Box!Box! Project

artist Testimonial:

My experience painting the box boxes was exhilarating. I had been ill for a long time and didn’t want to paint or do much of anything for that matter, but working on the boxes really perked me up. Before the heat of the day, I’d load up my trike basket with supplies, harness my service dog to the trike, don my silly hat and set off down the street toward the nearby traffic box. I could only paint about two hours at a time, but what I time I had there beside the street! So many people stopped by to offer kind words and take my picture, horns honked, and people waved constantly. Everyone seemed happy to see me painting there. It was inspiring to hear “great job” and “thank you” shouted at me over and over. I felt like a celebrity! It really brought me out of my doldrums. I thought I was doing something nice for the neighborhood, as it turns out, it was something great for me. Thank you for the opportunity MuncieArts!
