2020 Box! Box! Call for Applications now open

It’s a new year and a new season for Box! Box! traffic control box paintings! The application packet for 2020 is now available on the Box! Box! website.

A note about Covid-19, Social Distancing, and Box! Box!:

Although the city of Muncie is still following shelter-in-place and social restrictions, we are accepting Box! Box! applications for the 2020 season. Reviews of applications will be ongoing throughout the summer until July 31st. As artists are notified of their acceptance into the program, starting June 1, they may begin painting at their Box! Box! locations as long as they feel safe to do so. Artist groups will not be allowed to paint together until it is safe to congregate. While in public, all artists should consider wearing face protection and should maintain a distance of at least 6-feet from passers-by. Most boxes are located along sidewalks or streets, so there is a chance you will be passed while you are working. If additional traffic cones are needed to designate a painting space, let MACC know! We are excited to safely bring a little bit of fun and color back to Muncie this summer!

HOW TO APPLY:

Step 1: Download the application packet and instructions! Be sure to save the file to your computer before filling it out!

Step 2: Pick your favorite Box! Box! locations from the available ORANGE boxes on this map! Box! Box! Interactive Map

Step 3: Read the details on the Box! Box! website.

Step 4: Return all application materials to the Muncie Arts and Culture Council, either by US Mail or by Email to erin@munciearts.org. Since we are still working from home, email is preferred when possible. Mailed applications might not be reviewed until later this spring.
