Artist: A. Grace Longfellow

Project Title: BOXCAR

Location: Madison and Charles

Statement: Miniature and much less prone to causing a headache, like it's real-life counterparts. The BOXCAR concept pays homage to a staple in Muncie culture, the train. Taking a note from history, when the trains that crossed the state of Indiana carried people and freight on the interurban rails. Running from city to city, many paths crossed in Muncie and supported it's growing industry. This train car will capture that historical and authentic aesthetic while featuring small hints of the modern urban art that often finds it's place on these roaming canvases.

Bio: Since 2013, the Boxcar Adventurer (BCA) has traveled the United States in search for modern stories of creative living. Meeting artisans of various mediums and trades who utilize their artistic skills to support themselves, their family and communities. Collecting bits of the creative world, the BCA redistributes these gems and experiences with other artists she meets along her own creative journey. Spreading enthusiasm, knowledge and inspirations from a wider artistic network to otherwise isolated creative voices. The BCA seeks to promote a positive mentality through methodical creative practices.

Anna Grace (or just Grace) is a Yorktown alumni and Muncie native. After graduating high school in 2005, she left the area to pursue an education in the visual arts. This took her to Indianapolis for the better part of a decade. Where she worked as a graphic artist, screen printer and freelance illustrator while obtaining a B.S. in Graphic Design from the now defunct Art Institute of Indianapolis. During this time, she would create the BCA pseudonyme, while producing original stories and fine art pieces. Paying homage to the artist's roots in her train-laden hometown, and boundless creative spirit.

For the last 15 years, Anna Grace has continued to travel and hone her skills as an artist in a multitude of mediums and projects. From film projects, to non-profit clients to mural paintings. She is a versatile visionary with passion to spare.

Grace recently returned to Muncie to begin taking work in the area as a creative consultant. Volunteering with the Muncie OUTreach to establish an Arts Club for the LGBTQ community. While gearing up to take part in the variety of craft markets and shows. Where she promotes her creative services and displays the variety of projects she has available to support.
