Artist: Samantha Stapleton

Project Title: LaVaVa

Location: Mulberry and Washington

Statement: LaVaVa is the latest artifact in a series called "Take a Trip with Me". This series aims to explore how the illusion of depth and movement can be achieved while viewed on a flat surface. The work begins with a base image that is often something ordinary such as a staircase or a florescent light. Digital software is used to manipulate every aspect of the base image, and much like the rest of the series, LaVaVa was created using the same base and process and was then produced manually.

Bio: Samantha Stapleton is a fourth-year architecture student currently attending BSU, and plans to pursue a graduate degree in the design field. She is originally from a small town, where she was interested in art and the great outdoors.
