Project Statement:

This artwork depicts success through the beauty of nature. If you ask Ball State students why they are going to college you will get answers like; to be financially stable, to have a good job, to be successful. Well, what does it mean to be successful? To me, being successful means having a nice house with a beautiful white picket fence around it. Gorgeous landscape with sunflowers and singing birds that visit. This painting represents my happy future. I added a cardinal as a symbol of Ball State, without my hard work spent in college my successful future will not be possible.

Artist Bio:

My name is Katie Papai. I am a junior at Ball State University studying Art Education. My goal in life is to prove that everyone is an artist; they just have to believe in themselves. I tend to become an art teacher to help spread creativity all over the community. I want to teach the future generation that art brings people together and can bring joy to anyone’s day.
