Title: Take a Moment and Experience
Location: Meeks and White River
Statement: We are fortunate to live among wetlands, marshes, and waterways with countless thriving ecosystems. Take a moment, and just listen.
Every walk into the Craddock Wetland Nature Preserve, meander along the greenways, or exploration into Prairie Creek’s woodlands, I stop to be a part of the experience. The delicate swish of the bird wings as they fly low overhead. The music of the frogs. The splashing of ducklings and fish at play. The rhythm of water as it ricochets off stones smoothed down by time.
My work captures moments such as this. I want to freeze that memory of a heron preparing to snag her lunch from the rushing river. The moment I shared with her as I watched in awe, forgetting everything else in my life. We all need these moments. We all need to stop, take a break, and just breathe.
Bio: “As a recent empty nester, I am trying to rediscover who I am. The creative, silly, and occasionally nonsensical part of me is reappearing and is expressed through elaborate murals and pencil sketches. My artistic style depends on my mood and may be quite realistic, kooky and rather surreal, or cartoony.” - Stacey Grosh
